Three Emporia State track athletes participated in the multi-events of the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday in Jefferson City, Missouri.
After five events on the men’s side, Aren Trost is in third place with 3,517 points. Brandon Wilkes is in fifth place with 3,316 points.
Midway through the competition in the heptathlon on the women’s side, Victoria Pettay is in seventh with 2,591 points.
Trost was fourth in the 100m (11.54 and third in the long jump (20-1). His mark in the shot put (44-10.25) put him to third overall. He cleared a personal best 6-2.75 in the high jump.
Wilkes had a season-best time of 11.62 in the 100m and went 19-1.5 in the long jump. He was second to Trost in the shot put (40-9) and cleared 5-11.25 in the high jump. He finished 50.97 in the 400m.
Pettay ran a personal best of 16.02 in the 100m hurdles. She cleared 5-2.25 taking fifth clearing in the high jump. She threw 31-9 in the shot put and had a time of 27.64 in the 200m.
The multi-events kick off day two. Field events begin at noon. Track events start at 4:30 p.m. at Lincoln University.
