A stormy week is possible, although the severe weather chances look to be isolated for the KVOE listening area.
There were no reports of severe weather Sunday night, although areas along and north of US Highway 56 got some notable rainfall:
*Allen: 0.50 inches
After strong storm activity late Sunday night into early Monday, mainly north and west of Emporia, storms return to the forecast Tuesday afternoon and remain until at least Sunday night. The best chance of overall storm activity appears to be Wednesday afternoon through Thursday night. As far as severe weather is concerned, Wednesday has a marginal risk for isolated large hail virtually areawide.
This follows a relatively hot weekend. Emporia saw a new unofficial record high Saturday at 95 degrees, topping the prior high of 90 degrees set in 1952. Sunday’s high was 89, just short of the prior record of 90 degrees set in 1962.
We’ll keep you updated on the weather, including the severe weather risk, on KVOE and KVOE.com.
