Healthier Lyon County is in the progress of a project that will bring accessible community gardens to senior living facilities.
The project’s goal is to have more accessible garden spaces for people who are handicapped or have mobility aids.
Healthier Lyon County coalition member Nadia Quereshi says this project will support members of the facilities with activities about environmental education while they grow healthy crops.
The project currently is hoping to get more partnerships with senior living facilities. Quereshi says that upon the space they work with they will implement accessible raised bed gardens.
