Weak shaking was reported in Chase County after a small earthquake in Marion County on Wednesday.
The magnitude 2.7 earthquake happened shortly after 4 pm about eight miles southeast of Lincolnville or 36 miles west of Emporia. Shaking was reported at Elmdale and Strong City, or distances of 8 and 16 miles from the epicenter, respectively.
No injuries or damage have been reported.
