Showers and non-severe thunderstorms Thursday morning into afternoon could have a big impact on whether we have any severe storms Thursday night into early Friday.
Officially, there is a slight to marginal risk of severe weather areawide Thursday, with areas along and west of a line from Manhattan to Reading to Burlington in the slight risk and areas east of that line in a marginal risk. Large hail, damaging winds and locally heavy rain are the lead risks. Tornadic activity is unlikely.
There is also a marginal severe weather risk for Friday late afternoon into mid-evening. All hazards are possible, especially north of Kansas Highway 31.

Strong to severe storms are possible Thursday night and again Friday.
Officially, there is a slight risk of severe weather areawide Thursday, but scattered showers and storms through the day may make severe weather more isolated and may limit activity to the evening hours. As it stands, large hail, damaging winds and locally heavy rain are the lead risks. Tornadic activity is unlikely.
Friday has a marginal risk for virtually the entire area, with a slight risk for areas north of a line from White City to Harveyville to Carbondale. All hazards are possible, especially in the slight risk area, during the late afternoon and evening hours.
Showers and storms are also possible through the weekend. No widespread severe weather is expected, although storms may affect outdoor graduation parties both days.
