Looking back and looking ahead, seniors at Emporia High capped their high school careers by obtaining their diplomas Sunday.
Looking back, Senior Class President Emma Jung reflected on the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on her education. She says time freed up for her to concentrate on her studies.
Student Council President Kaitlyn Velasquez says her excitement built as she got closer to graduation.
Looking ahead, Velasquez — who is known for diving into a lot of activities — advised her fellow students not to overload themselves.
Jung says it was bittersweet to leave the routine she had built over four years, but she was also excited for what’s next. Her advice to her fellow graduates?
Over 250 students were eligible for diplomas.
