Criminal cases revolving around alleged drug distribution, contraband and offender registry violations are on Wednesday’s docket in Lyon County District Court.
Stephanie Dawn Potter has a preliminary hearing at 10:30 am before Judge Doug Jones. Potter is accused of two counts of aggravated offender registry violations and two more of offender registry violations after several alleged extended periods of failing to register following a meth distribution conviction connected to a 2014 case.
At 4 pm, Austin Buckridge has a status hearing that could lead to trial beginning as soon as Monday. Buckridge is charged with distributing up to 100 grams of cocaine and up to 450 grams of marijuana, as well as possessing paraphernalia, after an alleged incident this past July.
Also at 4 pm, Christopher Diaz has a status hearing with trial possible next week. Diaz currently faces charges of distributing up to 450 grams of marijuana as well as possessing cocaine, hydrocodone, psilocybin and paraphernalia. If trial does not begin Monday, trial may start July 24.
And at 4 pm, Brian Smith has a status hearing with trial possibly starting Monday, June 20 or July 10. Smith is charged with trafficking contraband into the Lyon County Jail, in this case marijuana, as well as possessing marijuana with a prior conviction.
