Local law enforcement seized a large amount of marijuana along with several firearms while executing a search warrant on a marijuana grow operation Monday morning.
According to Emporia Police Captain Lisa Hayes, officers and detectives along with Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies executed the warrant at a residence in northeast Emporia. Officers and deputies found and seized four pounds of marijuana, 10 marijuana plants, four firearms and four truckloads of “grow equipment.”
The warrant execution also led to the arrest of both 64-year-old Scott Lockyear and 32-year-old William Lockyear both of Emporia. Both were arrested on multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, distribution of marijuana and cultivation of marijuana.
Formal charges are pending.
