The Emporia High boys golf team sets its eyes on a state championship with the Class 5A state tournament that begins Monday at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson.
Caden Massey is making his final trip to state.
Hudson Sauder is making his second trip to state. He’s played the state course in the past.
Nolan Jacob is also making his second trip to state.
Will Walker is also returning to state for a second time.
Jared Johnson is making his first trip to state.
Brayden Bowen rounds out the Spartans heading to state.
Coach Rick Eckert says the Spartans will need to play their best round of the season if they want to advance to day two.
Day one will tee off at 8:30 a.m.
The Lyndon boys golf team is competing at the Class 2A state tournament in Hesston.
Council Grove’s Drew Buchanan and Osage Citys Owen Bailey will be competing at the Class 3A state tournament in Dodge City.
Chase Countys’ Piper Vogel will be playing at the Sand Greens State tournament at Leonardville.
The Emporia Golf Course is hosting the Class 1A state golf tournament.
