Local law enforcement is once again joining national agencies in cracking down on unrestrained driving.
Monday, the Click It or Ticket enforcement effort got underway and once again, both the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Emporia Police are involved in the effort. Over the next two weeks, officers and deputies will be extra vigilant for motorists who are traveling without a proper safety restraint.
Emporia Police Captain Ray Mattas says the campaign is all about enforcing compliance with the rules of the road and ensuring the safety of everyone in a vehicle.
The 2023 Click It or Ticket enforcement effort will continue through Sunday, June 4. Along with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and Emporia Police Department, Chase and Morris counties have also announced their involvement in the campaign.
