Local businesses may be receiving letters threatening to levy their assets.
The Emporia Police Department says at least one local business received a letter addressed from Tax Lien Group saying it would “levy assets” if the business did not respond to the letter by a certain date. Officers say the company is fictitious.
Business owners receiving similar letters, emails or phone calls should automatically be suspicious. Owners are advised to verify the validity of the correspondence and call Emporia Police at 620-343-4225 if they have any doubts.
