Rainfall came down heavy, but didn’t last long in many cases Friday.
Pop-up showers and storms crossed much of the KVOE listening area, especially during the afternoon hours. Rain totals as of 8 am:
*KVOE studios: 0.45 inches
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.30 inches
*1100 block Constitution: 0.20 inches
*South and Sylvan: 0.30 inches
This follows a week of spotty heavy rainfall for all area counties. There is a threat of more heavy rain Saturday afternoon into mid-evening. Shower and storm chances remain in the forecast for Sunday but aren’t as significant. The current forecast calls for most of next week to be dry until a slight chance of storms on Friday.
