Tax abatements and zoning matters will be the main items of business for Emporia City Commissioners when they meet for their weekly action meeting Wednesday morning.
Commissioners will continue a public hearing that was opened during their May 24 meeting. The hearing is in relation to the tax abatement status of S&S Quality Meats LLC.
Seperately, commissioners will consider approving a rezoning of 227 East Street from R-1 Low-Density Residential to L-1 Light Industrial.
The annexation of land located at 1526 South Highway 99, a minor platt for a proposed retail addition from JTS at Mr. Goodcents and the appointment of a member to the Emporia Human Relations Commission will also see consideration. During the commission’s study session commissioners will receive an outside appropriation request.
The meetings will begin at 11 am inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
