KVOE has reported for several years on the impending addition of QuikTrip to the community, however, it appears the news may be even bigger than originally expected, literally.
According to QuikTrip spokeswoman Aisha Jefferson-Smith the Emporia location, set to be located near 18th and Graphic Arts, will exceed the size of locations in many major metropolitan communities.
The Emporia store is part of QuikTrip’s remote travel location program which has been underway for the last three years with 26 remote locations constructed across 17 states. The Emporia location, as of now, would be the first in the state of Kansas and Emporia City Manager Trey Cocking tells KVOE News it is a sense of pride to know that national retailers are seeing such potential in the community.
With several notable retail names recently announced as coming to the Emporia Pavillions and rumors of others at the Flint Hills Mall, Cocking says Emporia is quickly becoming a mainstay for national chains.
The addition of QuikTrip was announced back in late 2020 and the project is still in the early stages of development according to Jefferson-Smith. A full timeline for the project is currently pending.
