The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin repair work on bridges located in Coffey County next week.
KDOT has scheduled a deck repair project for the Interstate-35 bridges over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad tracks located 6.5 miles east of the Lyon-Coffey County line. The project will begin Monday and southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane with a 60 mph speed limit.
Weather permitting, the project could be completed by the fall, however, an exact completion date has not been announced. PCI Roads LLC of Saint Michael, Minnesota will handle the better than $770,000 project.
