The Emporia Spartans split a season-opening doubleheader against Andover Wednesday night. The Spartans won the first game 12-3. Andover won the 2nd game 3-1.
The Spartans will open play in the Sam Ellis Classic Friday at noon against the Overbrook Bombers.
They will also play the Kansas Senators Friday evening at 6 pm. All games will be played at Sodens Grove.
