The 18th annual Symphony in the Flint Hills takes place Saturday.
This year’s event will take place at Wade Pasture in Wabaunsee County near Eskridge. During KVOE’s 8:05 a.m. newscast Friday, Organizer Julie Hower says gates for attendees will open at 1 p.m.
Activities will begin at 2 p.m. and go throughout the afternoon. Activities include cover wagon rides, roping, solar observations, guided prairie walks, and much more. The Kansas City Symphony will perform at 6:30 p.m. Along with the symphony, there will be a guest performer according to Hower.
After the performance, there will be activities including pow wow Dancers, a harmonica performance, Stargazing, and observing the universe through telescopes. Tickets are still available for this year’s event along with more information at symphonyintheflinthills.org.
