Two people were hospitalized after three vehicles collided at a south Emporia intersection late Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of South Avenue and Mechanic just before 4:20 pm for an injury accident. According to Emporia Police a Chrysler passenger van was traveling northbound preparing to enter the intersection.
At the same time a black GMC Sierra was traveling westbound while a southbound Dodge Grand Caravan was also preparing to enter the intersection. The Chrysler failed to yield and was struck on the passenger side by the Sierra causing the Chrysler to strike the Dodge Caravan.
Emporia Fire and EMS say a total of 10 individuals were involved two of which were taken to Newman Regional Health with minor injuries.
