Thankfully, there were no injuries after a wreck on Interstate 35 near Emporia’s Merchant Street exit Tuesday night.
Emporia Police Capt. Ray Mattas says a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and attached camper trailer, driven by 47-year-old Shane Twogood, were southbound when the crash developed around 9:30 pm. Twogood braked and swerved to avoid a deer crossing the highway. In the process, the trailer rolled onto its left side, lifting the rear wheels of the Jeep off the road.
The wreck closed down both southbound lanes for about 30 minutes.
Neither Twogood nor two passengers were hurt.
