Fifteen area men are set to raise money and awareness for SOS over the next month.
The 2023 SOS Strong Campaign kicked off its fundraising campaign Thursday. SOS Executive Director Connie Cahoone joined KVOE’s Morning Show Thursday to discuss this year’s fundraising event. Cahoone says this year’s campaign is more important than ever given an incoming decrease in grant funding that has been well publicized in recent months.
SOS Strong has been going on since 2015 and is designed to demonstrate that men can be positive role models in the battle against sexual and domestic violence of all kinds.
Ambassadors pledge to raise at least $1,000 to support SOS programs. For this year, the first $5,000 raised will be matched by Kat and Tamir Zuckerman.

Ambassadors pledge to lead by example, not to blame victims or engage in any acts of violence, stand up for those in need, be positive upstanders, and to always speak up for what is right.
