More details have been announced regarding an investigation involving local, state and federal officials after numerous envelopes containing a mysterious white powder were sent to various state lawmakers and public officials.
According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, samples of the envelopes were sent off for testing with preliminary results showing no signs of “common biological agents of concern.” The investigation is still ongoing after approximately 100 envelopes were received across the state of Kansas.
Further testing is planned to determine the exact components of the substance contained within the envelopes according to KBI. The KBI is working with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment as well as “other partners” in the investigation.
