The preliminary hearing for a man accused of attempted murder and arson after an incident near downtown Emporia this year has been delayed.
Donovan Williams was set for a court hearing Tuesday, but prosecutors requested a delay because witnesses failed to appear. The hearing is now set for July 14.
Williams faces 11 total counts, including one count of attempted murder, one count of aggravated arson, four counts of aggravated child endangerment, two of endangerment and two of criminal use of explosives. Williams allegedly threw a homemade incendiary device into an apartment’s second-story window at 825 Congress back in April. Nobody was hurt.
