USD 417 Morris County is changing leaders.
The board announced the appointment of Nancy Meyer as interim superintendent in a social media post Wednesday. The district gave no specifics about Meyer’s education career, but it says Meyer has “a wealth of experience in district and building level leadership and a passion for public education.”
The board made no mention of prior superintendent Aron Dody, although Dody confirms to KVOE News he finalized a separation agreement with the district this week. Dody came under scrutiny earlier this year after alleged mishandling of COVID-19 relief funds, an accusation which he says was grounded in a personal conflict instead of any violations. He says the separation was not connected to the resulting audit, but he says he can’t comment further because of a non-disclosure agreement he signed with the district as part of the separation.
USD 417 is not commenting on the separation.
Dody came to Morris County in 2018 after leading USD 251 North Lyon County four years and working as a teacher or administrator in the district for 10 years total. Dody came under fire after two failed attempts to build a K-12 facility and a third to build a K-8 facility, all near the district’s southern boundary.
