Part of Peyton Street in east Emporia is now closed.
Utility work is underway, meaning southbound traffic is now off limits between Sixth and South. A timetable for this work has not been announced.
The city says Hopkins, APAC and Coffman Construction workers should use South Avenue to enter the construction zone.
