Construction has started on Strong City’s latest quality of life project.
Splash Pads USA has moved equipment into position and started early processes on the city’s new splash pad, which will take shape near the city’s community-built playground and current fire station. Surrounding equipment like benches and fencing started coming to the city this spring.
Estimated cost is around $200,000.
Residents wanting more information about the Strong City splash pad can go to the City of Strong City Facebook page. Financial donations are still encouraged. Residents wanting to donate to the project can mail checks or bring donations to the City Clerk’s Office.
Mayor Lydia Simmons will have an update on KVOE’s Morning Show on June 30.
