Two Kansas Jayhawks and one Kansas State Wildcat heard their names called in the 2023 NBA Draft held Thursday evening.
Kansas guard Gradey Dick was selected 13th overall by the Toronto Raptors. Dick is Kansas’ latest lottery pick after Ochai Agbaji was drafted 14th overall in 2022 by the Utah Jazz.
Kansas State forward Keyonate Johnson was selected 50th overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Johnson is the first Wildcat to be drafted since Wesley Iwuandu was drafted 33rd overall in 2017 by the Orlando Magic.
Kansas forward Jalen Wilson was selected 51st overall by the Brooklyn Nets. The last Jayhawk to be drafted by the Nets was the 41st overall pick in 2012 with Tyshawn Taylor.
According to reports, Kansas State’s Markquis Nowell has signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors. Wichita State’s Craig Porter Jr has signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.
