Organizers of the annual Truckin for Tucker 5K say Tucker Lee would have been proud to see the continuation of his personal values through the third annual event held Saturday morning.
More than 80 residents took part in the event which honors the memory of Lee who passed away in 2021 following a battle with NUT Carcinoma. The event supports the Tucker Lee Everyone Plays Fund which provides financial assistance to families so they can participate in athletics.
Lee’s mother, and event organizer, Jodee Lee says Tucker was someone who felt everyone deserved an equal opportunity to take part in sports and athletics. She says he was a “generous soul” and someone who on more than one occasion literally gave others the shirt off of his back.
Totals from Truckin for Tucker are currently pending. If you would like more information on the Tucker Lee Everyone Plays fund contact the Emporia Community Foundation online at emporiacf.org or call (620) 342-9304.
