For four generations one local business has cemented its legacy within the Emporia community by embodying a simple value, “integrity.”
That was the word chosen by Cliff’s Super Service owner Jesse Clifford Shaver IV when he spoke with KVOE News during the business’ 85th-anniversary celebration Saturday morning. Shaver says Cliff’s has always strived to be integral whether it be through the work of their employees or their interactions with customers.
While they may have been celebrating 85 years of Cliff’s Saturday, Shaver tells KVOE News his family has actually been servicing the local transportation industry for more than a century.
As he looks to the future Shaver says he has considered selling the business, however, he notes that any sale would have little to do with money and more to do with ensuring the owners would continue to provide the same level of customer service and care that has become synonymous with Cliff’s over the last eight decades. As part of Saturday’s celebration, Cliff’s offered oil changes for $19.38 honoring the year the business officially opened.
