CareArc is expanding options for quality medical care with the official opening of its new medical wing.
The health center held a ribbon cutting for the new facility Tuesday morning at which time Chief Executive Officer Renee Hively noted that the facility is more than an addition to the building, it is the community’s center.
According to Medical Director Tammy Black, the new wing is more than just an expansion of space, it is also an expansion of service and quality of care for the community.
Black says the new medical wing will also include a women’s health center which is set to go online in late summer. The center will include a new nurse practitioner and midwife who will provide pre-natal and postpartum care services while also working closely with OBGYNs from Cotton-O’Neil and Newman Regional Health.
The new medical wing has been in the works since 2013 with planning and development getting underway in 2021 after the health center secured federal grant funding to support the project. The new medical wing is the first step in a major update to the health center that will include the addition of a new dental clinic in the near future.
In addition to comments from Hively and Black, the ribbon cutting also included tours of the new space and an opportunity to interact with medical clinic staff.
