The Kansas State High School Activities Association Executive Board has approved several items during their June Meeting.
Beginning in 2024, State football will be held at three locations with three games playing at each site. Locations will be announced at a later date. State Football in 2024 will take place on Nov. 29 and 30. There will be one game played on Friday and two games on Saturday.
Soccer will also see changes in the postseason with all championships being played at one site beginning in fall 2024. Quarterfinals and semifinals will be played at the higher seeds.
Wrestling will see changes for this school year. State wrestling will move to a three-day format with 6A and 5A girls and boys wrestling being held at Hartman Arena. 4A and 3-1A will be held in Salina.
Regional dates for 3A and 2-1A baseball have been moved up in an effort to help with pitcher availability. Regional seeding date will be moved up to allow first-round games to be played on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday with the semifinals and finals taking place the following Monday or Wednesday.
Basketball and volleyball postseason formats were discussed and will be discussed further at a later time.
