The Kansas City Royals were clobbered by the Cleveland Guardians 14-1 Wednesday night.
Cleveland scored 4 runs in the 4th inning on a grand slam by Jose Ramirez. The Guardians put the game out of reach scoring 7 runs in the 6th inning.
The Royals scored their lone run in the 7th inning, Drew Waters scored on a Freddy Fermin single.
The Royals and Guardians wrap up their 3 game series this afternoon. Zack Greinke will be starting pitcher for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 1:10 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
Nicky Lopez left Wednesday’s game after being hit on the right hand by a pitch. X-Rays were negative and he is listed as day-to-day.
Two of the Royals’ injured pitchers are on the rehab path. Brad Keller began his rehab assignment at Omaha Wednesday.
Angel Zerpa was moved up to Omaha after a stay with Northwest Arkansas.
