Sentencing is coming next month for a man accused of aggravated battery.
Jose Hugo Perez-Lopez accepted a plea agreement with prosecutors Friday. Perez-Lopez pleaded no contest to aggravated battery whild driving under the influence. Charges of transporting an open container of liquor, not having a valid driver’s license and failing to yield were dismissed.
Sentencing is Aug. 17. Perez-Lopez was charged after an incident in early December.
Meanwhile, a man who accepted a plea on a marijuana distribution charge was sentenced to prison.
Christopher A Diaz was originally charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and drug possession as part of an incident in May 2022, but he pleaded no contest to distributing less than 25 grams of marijuana in mid-May.
Diaz received 18 months in prison with 24 months of postrelease supervision.
