There isn’t much left to do for a major road improvement project just west of Emporia.
APAC has been handling the asphalt paving project between the Lyon-Chase county line and Lyon County Road E-5 since mid-April.
Kansas Department of Transportation engineer Dustin Hardin says there is some clean-up left as well as applying the permanent pavement markings. The current goal is to handle the striping Wednesday and Thursday, although there are currently good chances of showers and storms for Wednesday — and at least slight chances of rainfall all the way through the upcoming weekend.
