Housing and infrastructure matters will lead the Emporia City Commission’s action meeting Wednesday.
Commissioners could well decide on the future of the Kretsinger Subdivision housing project. Approval of the subdivision’s final plat, or the breakdown of the overall land parcel into property lines, utility plans and related items, is on the agenda. The subdivision will bring over 50 homes to the area near South Exchange and Soden’s Road or just east of the David Traylor Zoo if approved.
As part of separate, unrelated agenda items, commissioners could award a $2.4 million project to Carlson Utility for the Peyton Street waterline improvement project and ovre $50,000 to SR Coffman Construction for a waterline extension along Soden’s Road.
The action meeting begins at 11 am.
Following the action meeting, city commissioners roll immediately into their study meeting. Commissioners will get the final report from the city’s Homeless Taskforce and will discuss whether to extend the timeframe for the city’s prohibitin of illegal camping on public property, as the taskforce has suggested. A concept plan for a renovated Whittier Park, a resolution on the revenue-neutral rate and a review of an outside appropriation request will also be discussed.
Both meetings Wednesday are at the Municipal Court Room.
