While the Emporia State campus had thousands of people for the city’s annual fireworks display, B&B Theatre had a number of area veterans on hand for a special movie screening.
CrossWinds offered a chance to see Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny at no cost to veterans if they wanted a place to gather without the fireworks. Development Director Lucas Moody says public events like this can open doors for people needing mental health services.
Moody says it;s also important for people to realize CrossWinds is a community mental health center, and as such is working to serve everybody in its coverage area.
Over 30 tickets were claimed for the movie.
