The Minnesota Twins spoiled the 4th of July for the Kansas Royals, outscoring the Royals 9-3 Tuesday.
The Twins were leading 4-0 when Bobby Witt Jr hit a 2-run home run in the 4th inning. The Royals added a run in the 9th inning when Maikel Garica scored on a Nick Pratto sacrifice fly.
Royals Starter Zack Greinke left the game in the 6th inning with right shoulder discomfort. He had given up 6 runs on 7 hits.
The Royals and Twins wrap up their 3 game series tonight.
Alec Marsh will be the starting pitcher for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 6:40 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 6:00 pm.
The Royals made a couple of roster moves Tuesday.
They have recalled pitcher Jonathan Heasley from Omaha and returned Michael Massey from injury rehab.
They sent pitcher Austin Cox and infielder/outfielder Samad Taylor back to Omaha.
