The Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building had to be evacuated briefly after a smoke machine triggered a response from the Emporia Fire Department late Saturday night.
Emporia Fire was called to the Anderson Building for a smoke alarm just after 9:30 pm. According to Fire Captain Michael Nunley, the alarm was triggered by a smoke machine that was in use for an event at the building.
No flames were present and no injuries were reported. All in attendance were permitted to return roughly 15 minutes after the initial call.
