Minor injuries were reported after a crash near Emporia on Tuesday evening.
Lyon County Deputy Jody Meyers says the crash was reported at the junction of Interstate 35 mile and Road R-1 around 7:45 pm. The investigation indicates 41-year-old Danny Hess of Burlington was northbound on R-1 and was turning left onto the southbound I-35 entrance ramp when he lost control of his SUV. Instead of getting to the Interstate, the SUV went into the south ditch, came back onto the ramp, overturned and stopped in the north ditch.
Hess and 52-year-old Susanne Komma of Emporia were observed on site and declined further treatment.
