A pretrial and arraignment hearing is coming next month for a man accused of leaving the scene of a fatal crash late last year.
Angel Alvarado will return to Lyon County District Court on Aug. 11 and may learn his potential trial dates as part of that hearing. Judge Jeff Larson will preside.
Alvarado is formally accused of leaving the scene of a fatality accident, criminal desecration, interference with law enforcement, methamphetamine possession and paraphernalia possession.
The alleged incident at Sixth and Constitution on Dec. 15 involved the death of 50-year-old Osvaldo Laffita-Ramirez. Besides allegedly leaving the scene, Alvarado also allegedly loaded Laffita-Ramirez’s body in his vehicle, drove two blocks from the scene and left the area as officers began their investigation.
