A significant refresh of Lyon County’s information website is coming.
County commissioners recently approved requests for proposals to redo the website, lyoncounty.org. Public Relations Manager Vici Smith says there are several goals with the redesign, including better compliance with different rules and regulations, ease of loading information for department heads and other county staffers and greater interactivity — including increased access to the county’s social media channels.
Once a vendor is chosen, Smith expects at least six months before a redesigned website is available for the public. The goal is to have requests for proposals submitted for review by the end of August, and Smith says the goal is to partner with a vendor who specializes in government websites.
