The USD 253 Emporia Board of Education has teacher retention and student behavior data front and center on its agenda this week.
Board members will look at both topics as part of separate agenda items Wednesday before looking at handbooks for athletics, certified staff, classified staff, administrators and substitute teachers.
In other items, Emporia High biology teacher Erica Huggard, a Kansas Teacher of the Year regional finalist, will discuss her past year as part of the Teacher of the Year traveling team across Kansas. Numerous agreements are on the consent agenda, including Flint Hills Technical College, Allen Community College, Kansas State, Fort Hays State and Tabor University. An updated procurement plan for child nutrition programs is also on the consent agenda.
The meeting is at 6:30 pm Wednesday at Mary Herbert Education Center.
