Kansas City Royals CEO and Chairman John Sherman issued an open letter Tuesday.
The overview of the letter is more details on the new ballpark district. The Royals plan to share their plans which include the broad benefits of the two sites under consideration.
The project is expected to generate over 20,000 jobs, $1.4 billion in labor income, and $2.8 billion in total economic output. It’ll take three-plus years to build.
The Royals anticipate the inaugural year of the new ballpark is expected to generate some $185 million more in regional economic output than The K does today.
The Royals ownership group will commit well in excess of $1 billion in private investment to help create transformational growth.
The Royals plan to announce which site will best fulfill their pledge to create a powerful community impact, generate sustainable economic activity in the county, city, and state, and a greater opportunity for the citizens in the region in late September.
