Emporia High senior Addie Kirmer is staying home.
On Tuesday, Kirmer announced her verbal commitment to play basketball for Emporia State.
Kirmer says making the decision before she starts her senior year takes the pressure off her back.
Kirmer will be teammates with Gracie Gilpin again. The two played for the Lady Spartans from 2020-22. Kirmer’s coach, Carolyn Dorsey also played at Emporia State. Kirmer says she’s excited to be staying home.
Kirmer says her summer has been busy playing basketball both for the Lady Spartans and her club team, Wheat State Elite.
Kirmer was a first-team All-Centennial League pick as a junior. She averaged 13 points per game.
