The Front Porch Jam Series will hold its second jam Friday from 7 to 10 p.m.
This month’s jam was scheduled to be at 802 West 15th, but there has been a location change. Due to the extreme heat, the concert will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1980 at 932 Graphic Arts.
On KVOE’s Morning Show Wednesday, organizer Jeanna Scheve says it’s a fair trade-off to be out of the heat and still enjoy some local music.
With the event being held at the VFW Post 1980, no extra chairs and no coolers will be allowed.
This month’s jam will benefit the Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center. Scheve says the proceeds will help support educational displays and are free to visitors in the area to enjoy and help people learn about a variety of enviormental and ecological topics.
Friday’s concert will feature Scheve, Sam & The Firewatchers, Bayselhuhn, Riley Day and Hank Osterhout.
The first jam of the season took place last month and proceeds went to the USD 252 Honor Flight Program. Scheve says nearly $2,200 was raised during that jam.
The next concert is on August 18 at 890 Road L in Olpe and will benefit the USD 252 Honor Flight Program.
