Two road construction and maintenance projects northeast of Emporia have been approved by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
KDOT has approved a better than 9-mile road sealing project on Kansas Highway 99 from the Kansas Highway 170 junction to the US Highway 56 intersection. Vance Brothers and Subsidiary of Kansas City, Missouri, won the project with a bid of over $430,000.
Sealing work will also take place on K-170 from the K-99 junction east and northeast to Osage City’s southern city limits, a work zone of over 20 miles. Vance Brothers is the contractor with this project, bidding almost $1.1 million for the work.
Project timetables have not been announced.
