With a possibility of severe thunderstorms beginning Thursday evening, the National Weather Service Topeka office says all its NOAA weather radio transmitters are offline.
The Weather Service says a local power failure was to blame. Technicians are working to resolve the issues, but there is currently no estimated time for restoring service.
This comes with a slight risk of severe storms Thursday evening into early Friday, with wind and hail the main concerns. Area counties are in a marginal risk of severe weather for wind and hail Friday night into early Saturday — and a slight risk for all hazards Saturday afternoon through late evening.
