Water service was restored between 7:30-8:30 pm Tuesday after a water main break affected a fairly large coverage zone in central Emporia.
Issues were reported immediately around Ninth and West just before 3 pm. The outage zone was soon expanded to included Ninth between Congress and Oak as well as West between Sixth and Grove.

The goal is to make additional repairs Thursday, but the city says those could lead to another disruption in water service. Affected residents will get a special door-hanging flyer from the city Wednesday.
