Organizers of the David Traylor Zoo’s first-ever Zoo Brew: Night in the Wild were pleased with how things went Saturday.
Food was provided by Gourmet to Go and Darcy’s Dough, with beverage options from Radius Brewing, Trolley House and Turquoise Tavern and music from Brickhorse. Zoo docents also had several ambassador animals on hand.
Zoo Director Lisa Keith says the busy summer so far continues with more projects connected to the nearly $5 million Oasis capital campaign.
Emporia Friends of the Zoo Board President Colleen Mitchell says Zoo Brew gave the community a chance to see the return on their investments as construction continues.
About 230 people attended.
Besides ongoing construction, zoo administrators are also getting ready for a special City Meet & Greet with City Manager Trey Cocking from 10 am to noon Saturday.
