Design work on Emporia’s new skate park could begin if Emporia City Commissioners approve a contract as part of their regular action meeting Wednesday morning.
Commissioners will consider a contract with American Ramp Company for design and construction of a new skate park at Whittier Park. Commissioners will also consider approving an application to the CDBG Covid Resiliency (CDBG CVR) grant program through the Department of Commerce.
If the application is approved the city will also agree to pay Western Consultants $3,750 to prepare the document. A memorandum of understanding with Dynamic Discs for a requested $300,000 to support repair and upkeep of city-owned disc golf course will also see consideration.
Following their action meeting, commissioners will convene for their regular study session. During that time, commissioners will discuss the city’s transient guest tax rate, receive an update on a remodel of the Emporia Police Department lobby and will also discuss the 2024 budget.
The meetings will begin at 11 am inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
