Various requests gained approval by Lyon County Commissioners as part of their regular action meeting Thursday morning.
Among the agenda items was a request from Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods who sought an open-cut permit for Southern Star Gas Pipeline. The permit is for repair work on a line approximately 2,700 feet from Road 170 on U.
According to Woods, the permit will allow Southern Star to dig up a line in the area and make all needed repairs. Also, the permit will require Southern Star to maintain the work area for the next year, after which time Lyon County will reassume maintenance in the area.
Commissioners approved the permit 3-0. The scope of repair work and a possible timeline has not been disclosed by Southern Star.
In other business, commissioners also approved a quote from J&A Traffic Products for telespar posts and bases in the amount of $11,400. Interim Human Resources Director Vici Smith presented commissioners with a request to approve updates to the county’s leave donation policy and procedure form all of which gained unanimous approval.
Separately, commissioners approved a purchase request from Tobey Kelly for the purchase of six trucks in the amount of $304,050 for the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office fleet. Commissioners also approved the quarterly grant budget adjustment report and signatory approval in the amount of $8,060.75 presented by Bev Hilbish of Community Corrections.
The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its next regular meeting at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers next Thursday.
